McKinsey & Company I am an EM at a boutique firm specializing in strategy for B2B tech cos (e.g. Microsoft, aws). I have 4 years consulting exp (3 years pre MBA, 1 year post) with TC of 220K.
I am considering applying for McK as I am currently capped on progression at my firm for a while. Any insight if it would be worth entering the Associate position or at this point I'm too deep into consulting to justify stepping back down

D1 Got it- thanks for clarifying. As M1 mentioned I think director at consulting firm typically comes here at L65. I’m not sure what high means to you (all relative).
My advice is consistently to come to tech as quickly as you can if tech is your goal. You learn our ways and skillsets faster- which differ significantly from consulting. Particularly mgmt consultants end up disappointed to learn building PowerPoint decks is not a skill we value super highly. Plus all of tech stock is up at least 2x in past four years- get in on the growth

Left as a Consultant at Accenture, 3 years experience out of UG, came to MSFT as 60 but promoted to 61 in 6 months
Left big 4 with 2.5 years experience came to MS as consultant (L61)

Left accenture for Microsft last year with 6.5yoe and got a Sr Product Manager role (L63).
What level and location at ACN? Would you mind sharing comp comparisons? Considering this move now.
