In PA we are at-will employees so you can absolutely be let go for whatever reason and whenever the firm wants (unless it was discrimination which you said it wasn't). Unless your contract stipulated severence, I don't think you're entitled to it. Take the attorney's advice and move on.
Listen to the lawyer
See if you can get the attorney to send the letter anyway, maybe they throw you something to settle. Its going to carry much more weight coming from an attorney
I mean you can find a different attorney. Idk
As was mentioned, you are likely an at-will employee so you would need to have a case. If the attorney says there isn’t enough and won’t rep you that seems to indicate the answer. You can easily find another ambulance chaser to send a letter but you threatening them won’t carry much weight.
Severance is only paid when the company feels they have to an is usually done with a signed agreement that you won’t sue them and release them. Sounds like they aren’t worried or are small and are chancing it. Either way you would need a letter on legal counsel letterhead to get anyone’s attention.
Sounds like a great way to blackball yourself from the industry
Ask different attorneys for their opinion.
