Best way to get a consulting job in the U.S?
I work in US Tax and had an experience of 3 year. Had got an offer of 14Lpa in another big4,but still don't feel like continuing in US Tax. As taxation is something I do feel like I don't want to make a career anymore, because of work life balance & also as it specialised. Please suggest other option worthy to make a career shift. You guidance will be extremely helpful. My highest qualification is M.com.

Some BS I noticed that I’d like to call out…
As we’ve all seen there have been layoffs happening left and right. However, there’s a right way to handle the situation.
Lyft isn’t one of them. I was with the company earlier this year on a contract to hire role that was ended suddenly. Then, yesterday I saw on LinkedIn that most of the team was laid off (including team lead) YET I’ve had a recruiter reach out to me to apply to my same old position with the team but…

Totally doable. One caveat though - especially if it’s your first - coming back to work with a newborn is HARD. Coming back to work with a newborn AND navigating the stress and unknowns of a new job? That is a LOT to take on at once. This of course depends on your own personal situation.
I was also looking for a way out and job hunting when I was on mat leave. But I returned to my agency, and as I dipped my toes back into the working world as a 1st time mom, I was grateful to return to a job where I already knew the politics, processes, boundaries I could push, etc. since I had been there a while. Quite frankly, I could coast for a bit when I got back since I was dealing with a lot personally. Once I got the swing of things, it really helped me refocus priorities and identify what I’m willing (or not willing) to do in a future new job now.
Everyone is different, so good luck with your job hunt!
Yes agree 100%. My first pregnancy was rough, my baby ended up in the hospital for 3 months after being born, and later had medical issues (she’s fine now), but coming back to people who knew and cared about us helped me transition. It was ok to duck out early for doctors appt, etc because they all understood why. I’m pregnant with my second right now and while I want to leave badly, I’m sticking around for a while because I know I’ll be able to coast a bit and I have people who have my back because they’re invested in my family already. Once I get my bearings, depending on whether this kiddo has medical issues, I plan to start looking. But it’s hard the flexibility and work life balance is something I can count on because people care enough to help out and support me. The agency sucks, but the people are still good.
Another thing to file under, “stuff men don’t have to deal with.”
