Has anyone successfully switched to an IP practice after several years in a different transactional practice (e.g. comm. real estate)? I’m just over 6 years into my practice and want to practice in IP, where my real passion is; however, although I focused on IP in law school I have no “real world experience” in IP on my resume to sell this transition. Don’t want to spend my career in a practice I hate / completely unhappy, so trying very hard to make the switch now. Any advice is appreciated🙏🏼

Looking for a home office chair…I need something really ergonomic/comfortable but given the visibility of the office in the house the wife wants something stylish. I racked up about $20k in credit card debt due to a confluence of things happening at once (move, school expenses , etc ). I have a fair amount of paper assets but not a much free cash. Assets are down a decent amount with the current market cycle and I’d prefer not to sell them to cover the debt , although they easily could. I recently started with Firm A (AM Top 200), and Firm B (AM Top 50) reached out for an interview. Given the potential pay with Firm B is significant (I’d say life-changing), I scheduled the interview.
