Has anyone transferred into finance from tax? I don’t mind what I do right now, but it’s very niche. I worry about my ability to make a long-term 40+ year career out of it. I’m a rare case of a tax staff in Big 4 without an accounting background (kind of fell upward into my current situation). I have a STEM background.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

PS: I already have a Masters in design.

What nuggets of wisdom do you fishes have for someone who is thinking of getting a CPA/CFA or CFP deep into my career (have a different qualification). What is the most straightforward way (self-financed, since I have another qualification)? These would compliment my work as an actuary.

I am getting a good project in current company where there will be lot of learning
Initially it will be manual and then it will have automation testing. At the same time I have an offer in another company with good package but there won't be much learning compared to the current company project I am yet to get locked. Is learning important and priority for 4.5 years of experience? Or better to go with the high package offer? (Other company offer is from TCS). Your valuable comments would help.

In this field, when choosing a masters degree program is it more beneficial to get a degree in Human Resources to further my knowledge in HR (my undergraduate degree is in Economics) , an MBA, or Data Science Degree due to the fact that HR is becoming more data driven as well as get a PHR / SHRM-CP certification?

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I am currently in corporate finance and looking to pivot into product management. I would like to build a development plan to get there. What are the most critical skills and experiences that I should include on that plan?
