This week I started a listen through my entire record collection from front to back. I’ll be doing this on workdays when I am in my home office. Did it a few years ago. Collection has grown a lot since then. But I’m not doing comedy and spoken word this time. Too hard to work to those. I expect it to take 4-6 weeks at least. Depending on how many calls I have.

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg. I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

Question about expensive mileage while traveling. If you are in a city (greater than 100 miles from home office), do you still subtract out your normal office commute mileage on a daily basis?

Tips for cutting down on ‘gossip’ at work. I feel like sometimes I can get too casual with the people I speak to regularly and can overthink a comment or two.

Why are law firms utterly uninterested in seeking or receiving feedback from associates about how the firm (doesn’t) functions or is(n’t well) managed? Why is it always an exclusively one way street with the evaluations? Even when the firm is hemorrhaging lawyers. I mean this in all seriousness. I don’t get it. Of course, management doesn’t have to agree with all or even most of what the associates may say, but some insights could really strengthen the firm, and even make it more profitable.

Remote UR jobs? Love or hate?

Getting £75k as network engineer, started checking for opportunities as people keep telling market is good. But very few going beyond £70k. Majority are between £50k and £65k basic salary. Am I missing something?
