Yes. They are good if you are early in your career. They invest heavily in training but will be quick to let someone go if they are not high performing. A lot of politics in Houston office. Overall, good firm and paid higher end of market from my experience

I worked in the Houston office. There was very little transparency, and the pay was disrespectfully poor relative to equivalent roles in the middle market. There was a serious lack of a leadership structure because the managing partner thinks and acts like a dictator. For such a small firm there is an unnecessary amount of drama and politics, all relating to the dictatorial approach of the managing partner, the firm’s high turnover / burnout ratio, and a severe lack of soft skills development. This firm values profit-making that benefits the two senior partners over anything else, including real culture. There are significantly better middle market firms to work at than this one.

Hi fishes,
What questions shall I expect during the VP round for Genpact??
Please help.

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?

I like my job, and my team, and what I do. But damn if I’m not underpaid 😅 small company problems lol. I know I’ll have a salary review next spring (one year) but I’m working a second job cuz student loans blow ass lol. Gotta repay those degrees I don’t use anymore 🙃

Don’t mind me just venting lol. Carry on!

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

Question: I have a client who started a restaurant. He leased the land and bought shipping containers where he spent money contracting out to turn them into bars. I’m having a tough time determining how to depreciate this! First thought was leasehold but he’s not making improvements to a structure...he owns the structure! But nonresidential real estate at 27.5 years doesn’t make sense either as it’s not a brick and mortar building. Curious on others thoughts! TIA

Why do leaders keep comparing how “good”the new staff/seniors have it because they make more money starting out then they did and working 55 hours is better than the 70-80 hours they used to work? Instead they should compare what options they have available to them and what their goals are.
