Has this happened to anyone else? How do you deal with these situations?

Random rep or consultant from a company who sells a patient communication software that integrates with epic found my direct office number somehow (it’s not public) calls me and also messages me on LinkedIn.

I don’t respond and ignore the calls. Today I finally answered and asked them to stop calling me.

Need advice - I've been talking to a Partner contact at a big-4 firm where I REALLY want to work. She sent my info to the managing partner in my city, but I haven't heard anything for about 3 weeks. Been playing it cool because I know these things can take time, BUT, I just got let go from my current firm. I have til 12/15 to find a new job.

Do I tell her my timeline is now a month, or is telling them I'm getting fired going to tank my chances of getting the job?

Two years out of college do you still leave clubs and older internships ( maybe your junior summer) If they are relevant and show leadership depth

My manager micro manages everything I do, and I’m losing my mind. Wanted to see how any of you have handled a manager like this, and get some advice on how to tell them to literally stop.

3rd week on the job, a guy 2 levels below me came into my office and started the conversation with "let me lend you a piece of advice...". As expected, it was not useful advice, he was just a douche.

Hooked up with a manager form different line of service and now I came to know he is joining my team.

Have a really good relationship with current company, but got an amazing offer and very likely gonna leave (signed the offer, waiting for all the background checks to come back). How do you tell your boss you are leaving the company (if boss is not a dick lol) and not ruin relationship?

How do you deal with a manager who expects 3 months of work overnight? I have tried structuring , creating a plan to show him how the activities are being executed. However, he seems to be someone who turns around every other hour to ask ‘Is it done’? I am usually pretty good at managing expectations but having a hard time conveying how unreasonable he is being. Despite being organized, I am coming across as scattered and jumbled since I have been working 15+ hours with no food and break daily

“Oh, junior person, you have edits to the monthly activity report 3 days after your deadline to review the report, and after I sent it to the client? How lovely for you."

Do you guys respond to emails and phone calls over the weekend or have you been able to put boundaries in place wit your boss?

A partner I work for keeps asking for ETA's on assignments I have already submitted to the senior associate on the deal for review. Does it sound like I'm throwing the senior associate under the bus if I say I have already submitted to senior associate and am waiting for feedback? I feel like the partner will get upset at me even more if my answer sounds like I haven't submitted the assignment to the senior associate yet.

If you were attracted to a subordinate coworker would you by all means try to avoid being placed on same engagement team to avoid obvious or put more effort and request that they be put on your team?

The hostility on my team is rough. We have a yeller. I walked by her room the other day. She was screaming across the room at a student, "you have to be kind to get kindness." Seriously, those were her words in a loud, berating, angry tone. Our admin has asked that we not report these. We are to talk to the teacher. She has yelled at me and other adults. Admin has to know she treats the kids this way too. One teacher has to work with her door closed to not hear the yelling all day.

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I’m an application analyst in the midwest for a small CAH. I was hired into this position at $27.15/hr and have now worked here for a year. I’m curious how my salary compares with others working in the midwest. My primary responsibilities are systems/HIE integrations using Meditech, HL7 transfer, SQL report writing, and user administration (just to name a few).
