Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Depends on the layers at the company - if the hiring manager reports into exec team, then it’s 2 down and that’s perfectly normal. If it’s a lean team, also perfectly normal. I’m not sure I’d read it as a signal that it should be a higher level and more pay.
Yeah it’s fairly common, esp if they don’t have a fleshed out product marketing function. I once had multiple C-level interviews before the offer stage at a company that was definitely not a start-up. I’d use this opportunity to ask questions on the company’s outlook and growth plans — things other folks may have been reluctant to discuss.
Asking for more now can also be considered a bait and switch on your end and I’d be cautious. Keep in mind that the scope of a work for a ‘PMM’ can vary across companies, and the title is used for fairly junior roles all the way to senior roles as well and the salary range will vary significantly.
Could be a red flag on micromanaging.
Could be part of their process. I have heard of meeting exec team as part of interview process because they like to meet new people and be a part of the process.
I interviewed with VP at Amazon (probably comparable and with exec team for my new job at a small company.
They might be a start up or just getting out of that phase. How long have they been around? They might also be restructuring
In smaller companies, everyone, even the bigwigs, might get their hands dirty in hiring. It could be a sign of a collaborative culture where everyone has a say.
I’m joining a 1000-employee series F scale up as an SPMM and I was interviewed by the regional MD in the last round. It made sense as I’ll be the first PMM in the European market, so I’ll work closely with the regional team as well as the central one in a different continent. I guess it depends on the context then is what I mean.
