This is quite common... The "m" is harder for little ones to pronounce. It was a while before my little one started addressing his mama. Just remind the wife that this is common and not realated to anything she is doing. She will complain but there is not much else you guys can do besides practice with the little one !
Sort of a sidebar, my first kid is nowhere near talking yet, but I make it a point to tell my wife how good a mom she is every day.

Lol. Same with me, I got about 4 months of Abba before he started saying Amma. We did get him to learn her actual name before he started saying Amma so try that.
Just keep saying you get it from your mama when talking to her!
I like that, why not address your wife’s insecurities at the source and tell her she’s a great mom!
