Even if you think the offer is amazing relative to your current comp and role, negotiate. Ask for at least 10-20% more.
My partner got an amazing offer (50% raise) and accepted...only to find the next hire (similar YOE and background for the same role) negotiated and got another 10%.
Comp ranges are usually pretty wide. Shoot your shot. Worst case is they say no and you accept the current offer.
Sure did. Head hunter reached out to me. Honestly, I’m pretty stoked about the title bump. Prob helps that my 3 YOE has been in M&A CDDs
SA: Can you speak more on how did your leverage your M&A CDD experience while interviewing and making it an important part of the interview experience? I also have been a part of multiple M&A CDDs and need some guidance on structuring this experience
Thank you!! Great advice. I’ve always heard that you have to negotiate, no matter what. Just wanted to confirm.
My comp is pretty high as-is, given I have 3 YOE out of undergrad, but I’m definitely thirsty for that equity. Even if they can just match my base and bonus but also provide equity, I’m a happy camper.

Congratulations 🎉👏👏👏👏🎉👏🎉
Congratulations! I’ve heard from recruiters that when they’re given a pay range to work with, they always leave a little room for negotiations because they hate going back to the hiring team for an increase. It slows down the process and they might lose the candidate. One of them assured me that over 90% of recruiters expect the candidate to counter at least once.
Did you use a head hunter to get this. Director after only 3 years, I'm impressed and want to learn.
