Hearing rumors about layoffs at a firm on here and I want to address them in an interview next week. Bad idea to cite fishbowl? Another way to do it? Want them to know I’ve heard about layoffs.

A couple things. Do the rumors affect the group you are interviewing for? If so, then it seems strange that they would be still hiring if they don’t have enough work to support the current staff levels. To me that sounds more like performance related layoffs, which then have no point in being mentioned. Secondly, if the layoffs don’t affect the group you are interviewing for then don’t mention them.

Need advice. I received an offer from a company after searching for a job for MONTHS and submitting hundreds of applications. Currently unemployed. They are lowballing me by about $20k, on a salary and expect 10-12 hour days, occasional weekends (on top of M-F), and overall no work life balance. I don't want the job, but I financially need it. I finally have heard back from other companies and am expecting to interview, but the offer requires an answer before then. Any advice?
