Hei guys

DE 3YOE here, pretty happy about my education and experience so far. I mostly architect/implement data pipelines on AWS using the most common tools (pyspark, docker, databricks, ...).

Anyway, I would like to move to a less technical role in the long term (PM, possibly even Manager), and it's not possible in the company where I'm now so it's time for me to move.

I was thinking consulting, what do you think?

Also, if this was a good idea, any suggestion on which company for my scope?

Not the worst idea, but staying in industry will be better. Easiest way to move to M or PM is lateral. If your current environment isn't conducive, go to another company

The only case where I think consulting would be good for this transition is if you really want the consulting experience of client variety and front office client services in the interim. But that's absolutely not necessary for your career

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.
