HELLER AGENCY - who's worked there, or is working there? I've heard a terrible personal story about them, and their Glassdoor is red with blood.

I interviewed there and ultimately declined the job offer. When I met with the CEO he came off like a gigantic tool and that combined with tons of poor reviews was enough for me to pass up on it. During the interview process there was also a lot of mentions of working late, which was another red flag IMO.
I applied through LinkedIn and was interviewing with the ECD and president within a few days. They were actively pursuing me. They all seemed friendly but I got a cult-like vibe. They decided to give me a “copy test”which I politely declined. And then never heard from them again. I guess my portfolio wasn’t enough.
everything I've read about them, including my own experience, suggests that they love to jerk people around in the recruiting process. so i wouldn't worry about it to much.
I interviewed with them and the vibes were off. The CCO seems like he’s one of those people who doesn’t really do anything except goof off while the rest of the people are in the trenches. It also gives off drink the kool aid vibes. Also idk if this would be your situation, but they don’t hire “up”. So if you’re an ACD applying for a CD role, they won’t give it to you and try to pressure you into taking a lateral role. Just an FYI. My advice? Just interview and see what happens.
Their longtime ECD Brian Mann either left or was ousted and they’re very overworked now. I think (i could be wrong) they experienced a lot of turnover recently in the creative Dep’t.
The agency relies on prior creative’s work as their branding. The team is overworked due to lack of actual leadership. Everyone in their current leadership roles were hired as yes men without the proper experience. Hence horrible briefs, over promises to clients, and chasing pitches they can’t handle.
Also curious about the personal story. Plz dm me.
FWIW, we recently parted ways with our old chief creative and have new leadership in place for that department. This will likely also be reflected in different interview experiences.

And yes, his posts are SO embarrassing.
I imagine it's hard to find a new thing when your thing is holding jobs you were never qualified for.
Isn’t Avalere just Fishawack rebranded? If so, and Heller is getting some Fishes…yikes. The people I worked with at Fishawack 2-3 years were 👎
Again… all the talent is long gone. Their “award winning” campaigns are laughable. It’s easy to pay to enter and win awards.
I like it here, and I'm happy to explain why. DMed you.

JK, I became miserable and quit since writing this comment. Would be happy to tell people why it sucks there, though.
I had a positive experience at Heller. Yes, they have things to work on (they are a small company and now growing) but they actually care about their people unlike all of these bigger agencies. I would give it a chance. They look for specific talent needs based on the role that’s open so you never know.
Looks like they hired a new CCO
I’d like to know more too, spill the tea por favor
