You're very young, and you do have time to pursue what you want. With that being said, if you want a position in pediatrics but you don't have much medical experience in that field, then bring up things from your past that involve children. For example you are a babysitter on the weekends, you lifeguard at the YMCA for the children, you have 20 nieces and nephews etc etc. One thing as a clinic manager when I would look at resumes was anything that involved children if the applicant didn't have the experience. Excellent customer service and having personal experience with children is something I always looked for. So just to get your foot in the door maybe apply for front desk receptionist since back office tend to require certifications for the medical assistants. You can also work your way up from there.
I worked in a different industries for many years and was able to get through with a temp agency at 41 (9 months ago). It’s doable, just update your resume to show more customer service
You have plenty of time. Be patient. I didn’t go to nursing school until I was in my 30s. Just keep applying to jobs you think you can obtain with current knowledge and work on where you really want to be. Good luck!
Apply at Davita as a patient care technician. This will help you get into patient care and it’s a great learning experience.
EVS, FNS will open doors. Good Luck!
