im currently working in Germany for the NTT Data Business Solutions AS a SAP Consultant. I have a Master of Science Degree in IT Management and Part of my Masterthesis was the Google Password Manager. I'm turning 29 in June 2022 and playing with my thought s about moving to the US, with my wife and my 4month old Kid, for a term of 3 years.
Why ? The salary in Germany is so Low + the taxation ist high+ the Corona politic is a mess + the great IT comp. are located in the..(1/2)Goo
A couple of points:
- You will need a US Work visa to work in the US, so if you don't have one or are not employed by a company willing to sponsor your Visa, it will be difficult to move for a new job. I.e. try to move to the US with your current job & then look for companies who would take over sponsorship of the visa
- you mentioned that you would like to improve your English skills: if your English is not at a pretty solid level when applying for jobs you won't really be employable
- on roles in Google: Please consider the types of jobs you have done and that google offers. From what it seems (SAP Consultant) you might fit well into the Cloud team or alternatively some Application Engineering team looking for SAP expertise
- on moving to the US for tax & monetary reasons: Google has high-paying jobs in all countries including Germany (where I work) which would give you and your family a comfortable life and the difference to the US (post expenses) is not that big anymore
Finally a solid answer. I do have a strong knowledge, written and spoken but its a different to use common spoken words and phrases on a daily basis.
Salary is just a bonus, besides improving the skills, recieving the expierence to live in another country and flee from the germany politics
(1/2) the US + i want to expierence the life in another country + i want to increase my fluent english and spanish skills + i want to live some where, where i don't feel Cold every day.
What ist the best way to get in contact with a recruiter From Google ?
IS there a was to influence in which Department you get in ? I'm interested in local Guide, hosting, android, Password Manager.

I’m not super familiar with Germanys tax, but fwiw, California and NYC have super high tax, and your taxes increase as you get into a higher income bracket (progressive tax). The US is lacking some of the benefits that Germans have, mainly the health insurance. You have to pay for it per paycheck here, plus out of pocket costs towards a deductible.
Perhaps dig into that a bit.
Also, why specifically 3 years?
Like I said I’m not familiar enough with German tax to compare but I would look into US federal and state, plus other OOP costs you’ll incur in the US that you wouldn’t in Germany
