For IBM ISL:
1. Work culture is driven mostly from US. If your SME in US is good, you can expect no interference from India manager. However, a lot of stuffs will need to be delivered independently, because US SMEs will also be very busy. Unless your product is developed in India only, in which case India manager is God, and expect micromanagement.
2. Officially no time monitoring. In fact, swipe outs are not recorded. No timesheets as well. Complete freedom to work how and when you want to work. But, beware, it can change if the manager is not cooperative.
3. No dress code. Don't wear shorts and slippers if you're male. That's it.
4. No benefits will be visible to you the moment you join, except unlimited sick leaves. You will need to probe the seniors/manager to understand exactly what benefits are there for you. But mostly it depends on your work ethic, and benefits are work related only. Some of which are:
- You can work on patents and file them. You will get roughly INR 1,00,000/- per patent if they get approved.
- Certifications are free if you can convince your manager to reimburse. Any certification.
- You can get onsite if you navigate the internal politics successfully.
- There is a party budget and/or wellbeing budget for you. But no one will talk about it openly.
- If you perform well, you can get stocks in appraisal as of this year. This is a new policy and no one is properly aware of this. You need to spend a minimum of one year to be eligible. So, keep your eyes and years open.
5. Which product/team did you receive the offer for? Because, as far as I am aware, no ISL dev team sits in Bharatiya City. Everyone is based out of EGL Domlur. So, please confirm with HR once about your working location.
Also, IBM ISL will NOT provide you office cabs under any circumstances. Please keep that in mind.

How did u negotiate for joining bonus?
I didn’t ask anything, even i wasn’t expecting. HR himself mentioned about joining bonus.
I'm uncertain if they'll agree to negotiate, as my previous attempt was unsuccessful, unless you have a counter offer.
I believe its good package for 7 years of experience.

I also got a 7B band with 7 years of work exp.
I was offered 31fixed (including retiral) and 5L(2.5 +2.5l) joining bonus.
Is it a fair deal, or should i go for negotiation.
