Hi fishes, in a dilemma....switched to a Big4 from MNC(almost 7 years of exp) in April 2020. The pay was normalised at 15.5LPA. Will get the package revised next month to 16.25 LPA. Now Deloitte has approached, so can I ask for 30%pay hike considering the switch will happen after completing almost 11-12 months in my current organization or can I ask for more than 30%, depending if I get a senior consultant or manager role? Also will the switch within a year have any negative impact?

Money isn’t everything but in my late 20s it feels like the only thing important right now.

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?

I have a doubt. I have got offer from PwC India for a package of 7.5LPA as base pay and my current CTC is 4.5LPA. Now, manager is asking me for retention of 7LPA along with 50K bonus and he is convincing me with working with cutting edge tech in DevOps. What is the point in asking why do you want to switch after all interview process ? Haven't HR seen resume with all career progression for a candidate before shortlisting that resume which means they are fine with another Switch. If at all they want to ask this question so as to eliminate someone , they should ask this as the first call by them before scheduling the interview. It is a two process i.e. you need a resource and we don't ask them why do you want to recruit us ?
