Friendly late 20s woman fish here who hasn’t been feeling good enough to be in consulting or run a business. I don’t know what’s going on but even with all of my accomplishments I feel worthless. I’m in therapy so I’m sure there’s a rainbow somewhere but I’m wondering if anyone else has felt like this and what you’ve done to get past it? A few days ago I made a contribution to my HSA to max out my HSA contributions for 2020, it was ~3K. Now, on the Bank of America home page where it shows a tracker of how much I’ve contributed/withdrawn for each tax year it’s showing that amount toward 2021 instead of 2020. Does this actually matter? I know it’s just a tracker, but I don’t want my tax documents from BoA getting all screwy...

I used to live in the US for 7 years with H1b and left it in dec 20. I still trade stocks on Robinhood and TDAmeritrade but not sure what should I do for taxes for 21. Do I file it or not ? Since I haven’t let my brokers know that I’m outside of the US they send me tax forms. Any thoughts? Advices?

What is the average % increase in pay that comes with getting a promotion?

Is 1600 a lot to spend on rent with a 116k salary? No car payment or other major expenses monthly. I’ve never lived alone and am used to paying a lot less for rent. Debating if it’s worth paying 1400 for a place that is not as nice, but ultimately I don’t think it makes much of a difference?

He's been telling me to go for his management position once he moves on. I finally decided I wanted to go for it. I have a wonderful reputation in my company, won their highest award, and practically do his job already. I just found out my manager is pushing someone else on our team. How do I get this job?

My creative team lets the account team drive the copy and art direction for the team because they are the most knowledgeable people on the brand. It is the path of least resistance. There is no use for me to be a creative participant if this is the way it is. How do I encourage my boss to stand up for the creative process?

Here’s an idea for all firms posturing about diversity: may pay numbers transparent with demographic data included. So white male Managers at PwC make $xx, white women make $yy, black women make $zz. Pay bands don’t solve the problem since inequality in promotions and development opportunities persist.
