Hello guys, I am new here, and I am hoping to get an advice about my career. I am Director Of Operation for a small trucking company. They are closing the door 06/01 and I need to find a new job asap. It seems impossible mission. If I get any response it is, thank you but no:-) I would prefer to stay in the industry but wouldn't mind try something else. BTW, I took Google Project Manager certification, PSM1, Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt, Agile leader & currently attending SCM micromaster at MiTx

Many consulting firms have Supply Chain consulting practices that have transportation related projects. If you are interested in client service, could be an interesting option.

Thank you for the response. It was natural for me to broaden my education in this industry and that is why I am taking MicroMaster in Supply Chain Management offered by MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics via MITx on edX. It is a good idea. Thank you.

It would help if you describe what you do now/ your skills and what you think you may be a good fit for (what are you applying for generally). You will get more responses that way

Forgot to say I have 7 years of experience.

Find a good recruiter. Look for someone relevant to your sector / position.

A recruiter who has spent 3 years or more recruiter in the same sector, they should have some solid ideas / connections.

Avoid recruiters who move business / sector / disciplines every year or so.

Not an easy find admitted.

Thank you for the response. Mostly they are sales and tech, and I am not interested in either:-) If you come across anyone respectable, please let me know.

Please help me out. Any advice is welcomed.

I am looking (exclusively) remote position, however some of the jobs posted as a remote are for the states they operate and it would require a lot of work to set up positions in other states. At least that is my opinion. I am going to start looking openings at the companies you mentioned. That is the reason I took those certifications. I believe it would give me broader search but since I have no experience as Scrum master or agile leadership, they are worthless for the job search, but I personally don't regret taking them because it broader my view about how things should be done. I have some skills in a technology but not nearly to be competitive for the job market. Either way, thank you very much for your help. If you got any leads, or idea, please let me know. I can't focus on the studying or anything else bc I am very worried about my work future...

For me 50% of an effective job hunt is LinkedIn/cv preparation and maintenance, 30% can be networking benefits, and then 20% is other stuff. Ask yourself LinkedIn / cv a blind spot that is doing more harm than good (like most peoples)? The good thing is, it doesn’t take much for a LinkedIn to stand out, because most are so poor.

I did setup my LinkedIn account. Perhaps you can check it out and let me know what should be improved? Branka Tubin- Mudrinic. I think it is my age and nobody will say: we don't want to hire you bc of it but that is the reason. I know I was more than qualified for couple of the jobs I applied for, but was not even considered...

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

Look forward to hearing your experiences and wisdom!
