Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I’d honestly stick to the chemical engineering discipline and maybe become an engineering/design consultant. I think you’ll find yourself overqualified in most consulting firms. It’s not easy to break into consultancy and attain a relatively senior position if you have no consulting background.
So become technical consultant in the chemical engineering field - I have a background in Chem Eng myself and I’m sure there are technical consultancies out there e.g. Jacobs Engineering.
Your most valuable asset is the 20+ years of experience you have - not the six sigma certification which nobody will care about.
