Hello. I am looking to get out of the clinic and into more corporate work/desk jobs or even manager positions in a clinic. I am a non certified Veterinary technician of 2 years with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. I have been applying to jobs within the agriculture industry and vet med (pet insurance, laboratory) and haven’t even turned a head once I send in my resume. Is anyone really going to hire me without going back to school?

I went from agency to in house PR 1.5 years ago (I’m at a prof services firm in nyc). There are no boundaries for communication; everyone is expected to answer emails immediately at all hours and senior people respond in minutes between about 7am-11pm, at minimum. Is this normal in the corporate, non agency world? Not sure if this is just due to the pandemic and WFH, but I was under the impression that in house life would be more chill.

Hello everyone! So my dream job is to work at a veterinary office and I wasn’t able to go to college for it due to my financial issues and I still have that issue. I wanna get my foot in the door of any vet office I live in Maryland and I will start out as anything I just don’t know where to start. I have lots of experience with customer service and I love love love pets! I have Pets of my own and they are my world.

I took 4 years off from being a vet assistant first to have my daughter, and then because I didn’t want to start working during a pandemic. I’ve been applying everywhere and I’m not getting a call. Bad luck? Or is the gap scaring them off?

Having an animal friend with cancer is not something easy. This year I have already had 24 animals that went to sleep in order to stop suffering. This is not easy for their families at all. It seems to me that the cancer stats in domestic animals are increasing, is this just me?
