What has your experience been with attending therapy to help you cope with the stress of the job? Should I look for a therapist that specifically deals with high-stress workplaces?

i find that choosing a therapist is very much like dating, you're going to have to hang out a few times and maybe try out someone different before you find the right one for you

i would just focus on finding a therapist that meshes well with you. They have different personalities and approaches and there's not one therapist that works for everyone. If possible, try out different ones and see what works for you

I've found therapy to be highly helpful I would definitely recommend you check it out and see how it works out for you

I don't think you need to go as fas as getting a therapist that specializes in that but I would for sure encourage you to attend a few sessions

I have found therapy to be incredibly helpful in managing stress. It has allowed me to explore the root causes of my stress and develop strategies for managing it. I have also developed a better understanding of myself and my needs, which has helped me be more assertive in my professional life.

It's my experience that all therapists have some level of understanding regarding high-stress workplaces, because that seems to be a common problem people need help dealing with. If you are trying to get assertiveness training so that you can stand up for yourself better in the workplace, that is definitely a specialty that some therapists can provide more information about than others

I would recommend trying to find someone who specializes in workplace stressors, it is a very specific type of therapy and not all counselors are the same. They don't necessarily have to have experience helping people with your particular job, but they should know how to help people with the types of stressors you are experiencing.

Certainly, if you know what is bothering you then it is important to get someone who has helped others deal with similar issues. There are a lot of good counselors out there and I think they will be able to help. Have you considered group therapy? It seems like it might be a good way to deal with interpersonal conflict resolution, and that's one of the things that many people struggle with in the workplace.

Work stress is such a common issue that most therapists are well-versed. Focus on finding a therapist who you feel the most comfortable with.

I’m on the high side of the BMI scale and really want to prioritize healthy movement. Not ready to formally go back to the gym or do fitness group classes inside (both from a covid mentality and feeling uncomfortable due to size). I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

I’ve worked at places that all have different holiday policies. EA has at minimum a nice 10 day shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Years. It’s great to know that there will be no slack messages or an exploded inbox to come back to while away. I’ve been at other studios that only give you Christmas Eve & Day and New Years Eve & Day and then the rest is up to you to request for PTO and this is obviously the suck.

I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?
