Referrals go a long way to at least getting a first interview. We’re actively hiring now so keep checking for openings that align with your skills

like

Oh awesome I’ll definitely keep that in mind, thank you!

I live in Canada too, it’s not easy but there are several jobs out there. Have you attempted to find a networking forum in that field? A mentor perhaps? Another thing is to seek out a recruiter.
Hope that helped at all, Good luck!

Have you tried getting a referral from someone who already works there? That can help. You can either ask on here or reach out to a few people on LinkedIn. I'd also maybe look into having your resume professionally optimized. That can sometimes be the reason you're not making the cut. I hired someone on upwork to do mine. Didn't cost much and it make a pretty significant difference in my response rate. Good luck!

Seems like there are hiring freezes everywhere nowadays. I suppose a referral never hurts though.

Thank you guys for your comments! I have had my resume looked over and got referrals but nothing seems to come out of it unfortunately :/
I guess I’ll just have to keep trying and keep applying!

I’m in Ontario!

I would consider having your resume professionally optimized. That is something that really helped me.

Hi. I know the hiring freeze could be one of the reasons. But have you tried reaching out to recruiters? Referrals could also be useful.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.
