I meant for NY standard where 40 percent of my net pay is swallowed by the rent. The hours are also horrible - we are busy year around; definitely underpaid if you calculate that a NY Metro senior works minimum of 2000 hours.
Typical raise for 2 rated associate year 1 and senior year 1, I'd say is ~10%. Might be less this year with the recent cuts. A2->A3 and S2->S3 raises are usually smaller percentage wise, and then you get a catch-up with promo.
And It looks like I will end up renewing my existing lease with such paltry increase in salary. 😂
You're at $84K after 4 years of work experience. Probably will get bumped to around $88K - $92K this year. How is that paltry for 5 years experience? I think that's a pretty decent salary for the experience level.
@ey2 2+ years ago our bonuses were 15+% depending on rating. But the last two years the bonus percent has been abysmally low due (in advisory) for not meeting our budget goals. The goals were completely insane and we would never hit them so PwC went on a firing rampage and cost savings approach (no more Open Access health insurance, manager bonus slashed 20%, and more to come). Don't expect big bonus numbers or salary increases if you're not up for promotion and are near the middle pay band for your cohort.
NYM Tax.
Think you're already in-line. Wouldn't expect a catch up.

Thanks for the info bro. I missed out on the hike last year since I had joined early Feb. Will they catch up?
what were you expecting that 10% is paltry? like 20+? get real...
^Your salary not hourly. Agreed you're underpaid compared to industry, but that's public. You're not gonna change it. Start looking outside. Great time to make a jump!
