I’ll trade with you. My requests are coming in faster than I can handle, my staff can’t replicable prior years text boxes with updates for the current year and I’m just buried at the moment. We have two weeks to complete an audit that normally takes 2.5 months to finish, so there isn’t much time I can spend on coaching my staff. The Work just has to get done
Sounds like you're living the perfect life at the big 4 OP
EY1, I feel your pain!
And mostly free of errors. So I feel like I’m spending a lot of time either waiting or delegating work. Is this normal? When I was a staff it felt comfortable since I got into a routine and just grounded out work all day.
First world problems, eh?
Are you sure your associates are that good? Maybe you are missing stuff. In any case if your project is that much of a gravy train you should be working hard to take stuff off your managers plate.
Humble brag
OP: I’ve experienced similar before. I think it’s the calm before the storm, so honestly enjoy the quiet while you have it! It doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything wrong, though. Since it sounds like you have the extra time, do extra diligent reviews of your staffs work
Lucky you.
