Hey all,

Are 4 days enough to do this trip Toronto - Montreal - Quebec City - Toronto. Husband and I are taking Thursday & Friday off + weekend. I’m a bit skeptical driving in unpredictable December weather. The ones who done this trip please suggest safety + entertainment + if it’s worth it in winter. Or should we just go local and do something like horseshoe resort and winter wonderland. We’ve already rented the car for those days, will have to drop it back Sunday 10 AM.

Thank you so much!

I don't think so. That's like 15 hours of driving. You'll probably have to leave Quebec City before 5 am to make it back to Toronto before 10 am too. Not to mention the unpredictable weather can ruin the whole thing. I'd just go to Montreal.. and fly or train there.

like

Thank you for reply! I think that’s reasonable, I’m gonna cut it short and just do Montreal

Why not just do Montreal and Mont tremblent? Montreals always good for 2-3 days and then one night in mt tremblent (or could also do a day trip)

like

Would add Mont Royal observatory (bring boots) - beautiful at sunrise / sunset and a good place for a picture with the Downtown skyline. Crescent street is a good touristy place to barhop. Fine arts museum is right there as well if that interests you.

I just did the drive from Quebec City to Toronto, on a Saturday, with no traffic and in clear weather, and it took us just over 8 hours. No way you’re making it back to Toronto by 10 am unless you leave QC before 2am.

No, stay close

Make sure to visit old Montreal. It’s stunning.

No too short. You should only pick 2 spots for 4 days. All three locations have a lot to offer.

Need more than a day or so to really “do” a major city.

I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?
