What are exit opportunities from big 4 ITDD??
Hi everyone. A PDM specialist here. Joined Deloitte 5+ years back as ‘Senior Solution Engineer -On-site’.Later in June 2017 all these ‘on-site’ folks got rebranded as PDM. Slowly started to realize how PDM is getting sidelined as a ‘discountable’ group. Sometimes I feel contract jobs are better than being at PDM , but obviously tied up with D for visa related issues. No career progression so far and don’t see any positive changes in the near future as well.I think it’s high time to call it a day.

Frankly, it should not, but it well might. An associate at my firm got filmed being arrested once for some really stupid protest (nothing like what is going on now, he was preventing fire trucks from reaching an emergency) and he dropped in everyone’s esteem after that.

I’ve heard it’s generally recommended that protestors wear masks for this reason (plus covid, tear gas, etc.). A lot of photos are taken by participants, bystanders, police, security cameras, etc., and making it harder to identify yourself minimizes risk down the line. I can’t speak to actual professional risk from attending the protest through. It may highly depend on you and the specific firm/situation.

*Could* it? Yes. Even if you wear a mask, stand on the fringe and are never photographed during the event. You could get swept up in events, be arrested and wrongfully convicted of a crime you didn't commit. Attending could also have very positive effects.
Wear a mask.
Do you want to work somewhere where people think less of you for attending a protest that supports a hugely important topic? I wouldn’t.
Depends on the firm; ours wouldn’t care unless you were neglecting billables. Don’t get arrested; don’t end up in the newspapers
