Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? I am supposed to join PwC India (management consulting) in 3 weeks. PWC offered me a 23% hike on base pay which was fine 2 months back.

Now in efforts to retain, my firm is revising pay and will probably match that hike and there will also be a 20% bonus.

Can I use these data points to leverage a joining bonus from PwC? What are your thoughts?
