Hey Fishes, I was working in an MNC for 2.8 years with 3.6 ctc as a Frontend Developer but the experience was quite good as I had good level of responsibilities. Eventually I had to leave because the salary was very low, later i got into Paytm with same role ( 9 + 1 ctc) work is good but there’s not much responsibility. Luckily after 5 months my previous company manager contacted me saying that they want me back and will be providing me 11.25 ctc including 5% variable. What should I do?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. I have cleared 2 rounds of interview in citi corp but I have worked for citi project till Jan 2022 in TCS due to which HR needs internal approval.
Will I get the approvals as cooling period of citi is 1 year and 6 months for TCS.
For TCS I have already surpassed 6 month but not for citi.

Who gets to decide the ctc offered to a candidate? If a candidate is being offered x3 his/her current salary then does it give their manager the licence to overutilize the candidate with insane work? The way I see it there's no real benefit for the candidate here considering the performance pressure on him/her.
