My anxiety makes me good at my job. My incessant checking, and double checking, and analyzing has earned me praise, trust, and early promotions. Sometimes I wonder, if I were to take medication to give myself some relief, and to stop the panic attacks, would I be less productive? And then I wonder, do I value my own health so little? But I’m so validated by my performance...sad isn’t it? Hope I’m not alone.

Currently a CSM for a tech start up (REALLY EARLY STAGES) and have been there for almost 2 years. I do everything from CSM, HR, right hand to CFO and UX design for the app that we are building yet my title is CSM. I am looking for a better paying CSM job (70k+) or entry level UX design job. Can anyone please point me in the right direction or either ? Even if it’s learning more for a UX position. Through this job I found out I really love helping with that .

Why do FAANG companies pay above market not just for Eng talent but other non-core functions? Like HR or other functions that are largely similar anywhere else

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

Advice please! I fell into my role (3 yrs) after 20 years in high commission sales. I went from managing a customer service team to overseeing the entire company in 18 months. It's a small tech startup that has done really well. Most of my job is project management and operations. Resigned from my job for blatant racism last week. Been a contingent worker for 6 months. The manager that recruited me unfortunately left after a couple weeks and went to another company. She however recommended me for the permanent opportunity to higher management. The acting manager came in, permanent role was posted, I applied, interviewed……manager told me they chose someone else external for the role. I could sense the manager had no intentions to hire me permanently

What are your thoughts on the Scrum Master role? I’ve worked with a few now and out of 5 of them, only 1 seemed to be of any help. Most of the time we have to explain every detail multiple times and they still don’t understand what we’re doing. I feel that the role should be reserved for employees with experience in the systems they work in.
