Hey! I’m a Corporate Banking Analyst covering primarily TMT and eventually want to make a switch to a Media / Tech company in a Strategy role (GTM, DTC, etc.). Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck finding any resources regarding compensation at these types of firms. I was wondering if it would be a better idea if I stay in my current position until I get promoted to associate before I make the switch (if it helps getting more comp) or should I make the move after one year mark?

I am having 5.5 yoe Data engineering (Pyspark, hadoop, hive,flume, shell script, hdfs, mapreduce,sqoop , pipiline framework)

Ive accepted an offer going from a SM role to M role at EY in the CCas team , London office. Can anyone confirm how often one needs to come into the office, as my commute is from Hampshire . In my current role I rarely go to the office, i.e once every few months (also in London) and am considering backing out due to the additional commuting cost and less flexible work life balance.

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.
Just wondering:
1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

Is it feasible to push from promotion from SM to D with under 1 years tenure at the firm, or would that not be entertained? Opportunity in the team, SM grade is over staffed with more coming in, no Directors, and have been high performer (based on metrics, sales and developed strong network)

Opinions on having other people do the readout of decks that you created all the way through (data processing, analysis, and compilation)? I personally think its so silly having else do it.
