I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

I recently sign a lease. The apartment will put my security deposit into an interest-bearing account and requires me to fill out a form W9. I will join EY this June and just wondering if this is ok in terms of the independence rule. I guess the apartment will put my deposit in some sort of funds. Anyone with EY has experience? Reading the independence brochure, looks like it does not specify something related to this scenario but just wanted to confirm . TIA!

I am a new associate (1 month in mid-tier firm) and I struggle to get work to fill up the whole day. In honest time, i get about 3-5 billable hours a day.
