The bonus ranges are tied to your rating, and differ by staff level. A Manager with a 3 rating has a bonus range of 0%-6%. A 2 rating for a Manager has a range of 5%-12%, and a 1 has a range of 8% to 20%.
If you search "Performance Pay" on Spark you can see the ranges for all levels and ratings. It seems like in recent years many people have complained that their bonus was at the bottom of the range, but I know for a fact that this year, with the bonus pool being more than fully funded, some were given bonuses above the top end of the range.
25 Toonies and 75 Loonies
No problem. If using this to help you decide, I guess the takeaways are:
-you aren't guaranteed anything unless you are rated 2 or 1, and even in that case you could end up with the minimum.
-the ranges are applicable to all of Canada.
-the range for Senior Managers and Directors is slightly higher than the Manager range, but those two levels use the same range
Thanks P1! I'm considering a transfer to Toronto from a city outside of Canada (non-US) and was curious as to the incentive structure, particularly as salaries don't seem to be as high as elsewhere. This is helpful, so thank you!
Thank you! One more question if I may - what is the expected range for a Manager in Advisory, in Toronto? Would 120k be reasonable to ask? It would be a global mobility move, so don't want to push the envelope too far...
The range for an Advisory Manager is 86k to 144k. Without knowing your experience or group, it's difficult to say, but in general $120k isn't unreasonable. For Enterprise Apps or People & Org it may be a bit high for a 2nd year Manager.
Thanks P1 - it'd be in Deals. That was the range in glassdoor but the lower end seems almost unfathomably low?
That's the range they've published a couple of times over the last year. I agree there likely aren't many Managers making 86k. Not too sure how many are making over 140k either.
May I ask whether the impact tier will have any impact on base salary? Will the people in Tier 1 have a higher base salary?
