+1 to the above. Your most important work is your network. No matter how polished or stacked your resume is, it’s still just a piece of paper unless you’ve made yourself a real person attached to it.

I agree with this! And well said. Thats why I always include hobbies and interests on mine. Most of the time that’s where we end the conversation

You need to network heavily. It’s difficult to differentiate yourself based on resume alone. I recommend working full time if you can handle the work load. I did that while doing my masters and it’s benefited me a lot. I got a 50K increase in base due to my experience and qualifications. I also recommend trying to get as much exposure to your professors and doing any volunteer work where possible. I had three opportunities to do student consulting projects which are unpaid and they have helped a lot as well in expanding my opportunity base

my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Feels odd that she is no longer here. I just wish she could have had a better future.

Husband and I have been TTC for almost a year. His semen analysis came back all normal with the exception of morphology at 1% (Kruger Strict criteria). Anyone have insights into morphology and it’s impacts on fertility? From what I’ve read and after talking to our fertility specialist morphology seems subjective.

Do tech companies like FAANG hire strategy consultants? Starting at an MBB/T2 next year and curious if tech companies leverage consultants as much as other industries. Hi All,
I am feeling lost in job. So I’ve applied for Accounts payable they offered 40k. I said why not to gain some experience. I didn’t even bother negotiating which I regret.
Fast forward I noticed that I was eventually handed everyone’s workload (AR & imports & duty and check coworker work + AP) Spoke to them about pay increase based on workload. So they raised it to 55k.. but I still feel underpaid based on the amt of work I do. I don’t know what my title or what to put on resume..

recently asked a question about going to law school with an accounting degree. follow up on that- if i work 1-2 years at my current firm (offered 72,500 full time after graduating undergrad) and acquire my cpa (courses and exam fees paid for by the firm), then apply to law school, would that be more beneficial? ive been reading a lot that work experience helps with the application, alongside having a high gpa and LSAT score

I was just offered a part time position technical writing for a start up environmental company. It's my first job post undergrad, and I live in NC. They want to know my salary expectations. Any tips?
