We don’t intend to move right away but continue working in the US on our H1Bs for at least 1-1.5 years. In the meanwhile, both mine and my spouses H1Bs are up for renewal.
1) is there a risk to the H1B renewal because we’re holding a Canadian PR?
2) I’ve heard PR holders in Canada are taxed on worldwide income. If that’s the case, will we need to pay taxes in both the US and Canada?
1. No, i did the same for sometime. I landed in 2017, went back to US worked there for sometime and finally moved last year.
2. Taxes are tricky, i would say no need to get any health card/id card except sin from Canada, and you are good to go. Probably you will not have to file taxes then.
