Are you working from home or in an office?
If you were in the office they have to cover it, at home I’m not sure.
Hi! I also have scoliosis and just went through a lot of paperwork to be able to work remote. My HR rep said that the business could buy me a chair that would meet my requirements to keep me in office (they didn't). Make sure your request includes that it is "a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act" and that it is "necessary for you to complete one or more of your essential job functions". They may still claim that the expense causes "undue hardship" to the company and that you working from home is the accommodation but it's worth a shot.
At home they might not have to, but you can claim it on your taxes if you are able to wait until you do your 2022 taxes (if in US)
Get a letter from your doctor submit it to HR. Ask your DR to specify that you cannot work without the accomodation.
Do you have the option to work in the office? If so I can see them arguing that they are accommodating you.
Not really - it is also currently closed at the moment.
If you have Insurance and a proper note in your Medical file and a “prescription due to medical change” call and speak with a Care Coordinator at your Insurance company. They may have a reimbursement option for Ergonomics.
