Hi All! I work for a US based boutique tech company in the healthcare admin space. I’m currently interviewing for a senior role with a startup that is based out of Canada that is breaking into the US. Does anyone have any advice on the difference between the two workforce’s or experience with a company entering a new country? Any and all advice / tips that can be used while interview prepping would be helpful.

Working in the energy industry for over 8 years. Been working with GIZ for the last six years as a national employee in Pakistan. Lots of experience in B2B, energy access and utility scale renewables. Would be very happy to connect with someone who would have roles in energy consulting and willing to sponsor visas for the position, if selected on merit.

Anyone want a referral for Deloitte? Specifically hiring for experience with Anaplan, OneStream or Hyperion. DM me!

In the current lateral market what is the usual time for hearing a decision after a final round of interviews? For context, final round went really well, it’s not even been a week yet, they thought I was a great fit etc, said they’re expanding and looking to hire someone ASAP. Just wanted to know what others’ experiences have been like.

Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Anyone know of any great articles or advice for building a multi-sided platform at the beginning of that platform’s life? I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m a bit confused about share dilution and if it’s worth it for me to buy some of my stock options… thanks in adv!

For startup founders/people with a successful side project: How did you get the idea/inspiration for your business? I’m currently working at a Series B startup and my end goal has always been to found my own startup, but I graduated from college 2.5 years ago and I still have not had any great ideas cross my mind. I do spend a fair amount of time brainstorming. I don’t want to continue working here forever, but I’m struggling to generate that “this is it” idea to build a company for. Any advice?

Going through a closeout. 50-50 profit share allocation, but my business partner has been using the venture money at their personal piggy bank (hence the breakup). My accountants say because we agreed to 50-50 shares, the leftover money has to be divided equally.

They spent $100k in the last month on random "work stuff" but bought a new car, etc. Now I have to pay for it with less equity return!

Just wanted to rant, I'll probably never go into a partnership again.
