It might not be worth it financially, but it could be worth it for more interesting work or access to better exit opportunities. But be sure to consider what happens if you don't make it into MBB. A top 10 MBA gives you a chance, but most applicants still don't make the cut. There is a good chance you wind up in T2 again post MBA.

I would say don’t do a MBA to get into MBB. I don’t think it’s worth it.
I know hiring managers at public companies that only select from MBB. So it makes it easier to exit even if you get kicked out fast.
Yeah I recently interviewed for a role and, after wonderful interviews (IMHO), the recruiter called me to tell me that candidates from MBB had entered the process and they were moving forward with them. I hate logos.
Beyond me why so many people thirst over MBB - it’s just as trash and toxic as other companies on the inside.
Follow your heart and not brands, OP.
The experience you have on a case is entirely dependent on the PL, which means it can vary widely. And while I appreciate the growth due to feedback, sometimes it’s taken too far and impacts self confidence. It feels like all stick and no carrot, and the stakes are always too high
I am 12 years out of big 4 consulting and still thinking about b school to get into MBB
I have cleaned up my fair share of strategy engagements, mostly McKinsey and BCG in the media space. Have come in on the heels of them getting kicked out and us working through their shit. Largely its an analysis slide with a few callous or waterfall graphs. Agreed with D, clout and reach they have is larger than anyone else.
3 years of experience at 140k base... wow
Read the post A2... They are trying to get into MBB.
Probably not a great investment from a pure ROI perspective (salary differences are only significant later in career, and chances of sticking it out that long are questionable), so it depends on whether the broader life experience an MBA offers is highly appealing to you.
Banking and PE, if accessible to you, would be higher ROI as their salaries are greater than in consulting (more bonus-dependent as well so a bit more volatile). But you would want to be sure you couldn’t enter any of these paths without an MBA before you go ahead and pursue one.

Base at MBB is typically $165K for post-MBA associates/consultants
