Hi Everyone - how did you know you wanted to stay in supply chain? I'm looking at my long-term career prospects and I'm not sure if this is where I want to be forever. Either that, or I really need to switch jobs and land a raise. Is everyone here happy with their career path?

If you are early in your career and you aren't happy, figure out why. It's a thankless place. You will be at fault for everyone else’s mistakes because you are the point person for everything going in and out.
I'm still in it, with two stints elsewhere, because my brain is wired for problem-solving. I like the puzzle of how to get the right amount at a lower price, at the right time, without anyone asking for it.
If making the company better isn't a desire, knowing you will likely not be recognized early in your career when you do everything perfectly, look elsewhere. You started here, and you may come back repeatedly like I did.

I think I’m good at the job, but I’m not happy. Supply chain tends to have long hours to meet other people’s deadlines. Tend to require 24/7 responses needed, especially if you work with clientele/vendors that are in different time zones.

Maybe the day to day tasks feel repetitive, or the corporate ladder seems too long. It's okay! Different strokes for different folks. Explore other fields that pique your interest, whether it's marketing, data science, or building your own sourdough empire.

Currently an assurance senior 3 at EY (promoting to manager in Oct). Want to get insight or anyone who made transfer from one big 4 to another. Was it worth it? What’s the bump in salary? How hard was the transition for you (new terminology, tech, firm culture, etc)? Don’t want to think the grass is always greener on the other side, but I’ve seen so many people made the move to EY from other big 4 and they make much more than I do because of the switch (same city same service line same level).

I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Hi All,
I have been working as mainframe developer for around 8 years. From last year, working on requirement analysis and team management activities. I want to move into java full stack developer profile as I am not interested in management work. I know that being 8+ YOE guy and considering my tech background, it would be difficult to transition, but I am really depressed with my work profile. Please advise how should I transition my career path to a java full stack developer.

What are similarities of product management versus portfolio project management?

First post, not sure if this is the best bowl to use but here goes. I’m wondering if anyone can share a bit about their experience working at MongoDB. I have seen they are hiring for many roles and am curious to hear about their experience. In particular, I would like to hear about software engineer roles. Currently I work on database engine C++ code and have seen some roles that indicate continuing down this stream would be possible with my skillset.
