I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

Get into a small company (someone that pays the employees regularly; many scientific/publication writing companies in India do not pay). Learn how to write manuscripts and abstracts and make slide decks.
Or learn about medical writing (don't know what those people do; guess they write the CSR, CTD and other clinical trial docs that need to be submitted to FDA and other reg authorities). Extract as much as you can. After 3 months, start applying to Novartis, Sanofi, Lilly, Novo Nordisk, etc. Don't forget to make a strong Naukri profile updating everything that you learn. Add your resume with date in file name. Recruiters will only read that and some topline things on the naukri profile. Go to your profile once every week, delete one letter from your name. SAVE and put it back. Save again. This will update your profile and keep it in the Searches of recruiters. Don't forget to change the date on the uploaded Resume fie. Should be within the last 3-4 months. Good luck.
