I’m currently struggling with my friend group. I’m a transplant to my current city and ended up making friends with my coworkers (who were also transplants). Let’s say you have two young, high income partners in a couple who want to buy a house together but don’t really care to get married. What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
