Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

$ now is better than $ in the future.
That's a massive increase. Take the corporate $
Is there a promotion in sight? You could be at $133k in a few years if so. Might be wise to project out the future earnings at both. Could plateau in industry but a 50% increase is hard to pass up. I’d take it
Sounds like you have your answer then! As others have mentioned. Time value of money too. Take the leap
time value of money! take it and sing bye bye bye to your coworkers on your way out
PA will always be willing to welcome you back assuming you don’t burn bridges leaving. Congratulations and good luck.
I moved from public to industry as a second year senior and didn’t regret it. I am still good friends with many at my PA job and we stay in touch, get together for happy hour, and refer each other to new job opportunities. I have changed roles/companies a couple times since then and continue making friends that I carry with me when I transition out. Your circle of friends can continue to grow and don’t believe when PA management tells you that once you leave, you will never work with smart people again. I have worked with wicked smart, kind, highly skilled individuals in industry and have met mentors there who have made a huge impact on my career.
