I’m 3.5 year experienced developer billed for 60 lakhs. I was paid just 11 lakhs. I feel it’s reasonable to be paid 20plus lakh packages.
I was pitched as a 8 year experienced person to the client for the role so that I can be billed higher but I was just 2.5 when I joined.
There are some companies like Amazon, Google etc. which do provide such pay scales just because they hire the best and that is costly. These people will not have issues. But some are going to companies which offer maybe 10 LPA for a role but due to high attrition and multiple offers the candidate is getting he or she secures let's say 18 LPA offer. Once the market stabilizes these people won't be able to justify their salaries as the jobs they are doing are not worth that. Switching like this is not sustainable.

Highly likely. That can happen instead of mass layoffs

Not a permanent phenomenon. As the big companies train the freshers and the demand in USA subsides, you will see all the craziness coming to an end. Right now, the pay is just too much for the billing rate. Not sustainable in the near future
I’m 2018 passout and from what I’ve seen… 20 LPA is very common. In fact I got offer from Innovaccer for 28 LPA but not worth it because too much variable and fixed was 24..current is 20. Not much of a difference
good one

It's fine as long as they stay for a brief to long period in their new company, say 5+ years. But if they keep switching every 2-3 years, they'll reach a saturation stage and will either be laid off for cost cutting or will be un-hireable due to being unaffordable.

Yeah Deloitte dude here is thinking that he can get CEO position by switching enough companies.

.
But i see people with frequent switches are just minting amazing packages

Be in present. This is the market correction happening which is still less as compared to US, UK. If you have skills you shouldn’t be worried about layoffs but you are not adding value to your org and project then you should also not stay
