Hi friends! Looking to exit my industry, as they've made it clear across the board they simply don't pay.

Following! My last day at my current agency is this Thursday and I couldn’t be more excited. No plan yet but would similarly like to find a position that values work-life balance as opposed to using it as a buzzword to attract talent. And also trying to start a family so somewhere that contributes to fertility treatments/family planning would be a huge plus!
Yes! This is exactly how I feel! I hope we get some helpful intel from the comments on this post😎
Would also suuuuper appreciate any input from folks who feel their company also has #clearcommunication and blatant appreciation for #worklifebalance because that is something I also feel I've been lacking! Thanks again all
Insurance in general have a need for workers and willing to work around personal needs. I can refer at Travelers and have friends still at Progressive that can refer.
Thanks! I'll look into them & send a DM🙂
This is where you interview the employer. Do not sit as a quiet mouse in the corner taking whatever is offered. If you want to show you are high value you ask questions like location requirements? Do I need to take vacation to leave the country? What are the travel requirements? I’m an immediate no thanks if they want weekly or every other week travel. For healthcare, maternity leave, vacation, I ask all that to HR/recruiter before I’ll answer my salary requirements. It’s a sliding scale based on what’s provided. As for employers it’s typically the boring companies, a telco, insurance, banking, where you find find the best work/life remote jobs. I’ve had zero high profile companies with cush jobs. I’ve been inside maybe 25 different companies across industries. Tech companies, high profile companies usually have high expectations, prove you deserve to be here mentality. I like the we’ll take whatever help you can give us mentality. Maybe there’s a top tier, which is opinion based and amazing work/life balance somewhere but I haven’t seen it. The companies I go into are so vast we could have opposite experiences. Most of it is team based once you make sure the company aligns with what you value. I’ll give you a few where I’ve had good remote experiences. AT&T, Accenture long term single client, American Family Insurance, Fiserv, nearly any bank, colleges, notice how none of them are exciting. They all worked banker hours. Once you get into consulting companies, AWS, Google, Netflix, Facebook, you’re suddenly expected to spend your non-work hours on work related tasks like travel, software releases, troubleshooting.
Fair points! Entertainment industry here, so yeah - I get what you mean. I have a ton of general admin transferable skills so I've pretty much been looking at everyone (because admin exists just about everywhere). Thanks for the suggestions!
We are hiring where I work. It is a consulting/3rd party that specializes in assisting skilled nursing facilities. New clients coming on board so there are positions open in almost all departments. Message me for more details. Oh yeah ir is remote and I believe my insurance policy covers some type of fertility treatment but I'd have to look.
Thanks! I'll DM!
