One of my friends has a total of 5 yoe in SAP SD .
His cctc is 12 lpa including 10% variable .
He is in the idea of switching the company .
How much pay he can ask ? Actually he asked for 16 lpa , but hr has confirmed 15 lpa (including 10% variable)and he said okay , is it as per market value ? I feel it is low .
How much he could've asked ?

My current salary is under market average for my position but based off my coworkers’ negative experiences with asking for raises/promotions, I’m not really sure how to go about starting the conversation with my manager.
