I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

I would suggest better join and then explain the problem and they should be able to make arrangements.Alternatively if you want 100 percent surity then for that you should have another offer letter in hand. Then you can talk to vmware now and ask them to agree for permanant wfh and then join else join the other company
Once I join and inform later then they will be furious on me if i say i want permanent wfh, so have informed manager. Waiting for a response.
I have declined other offers once i received VMware offer. No issues i can get jobs if i start giving interview, i am immediate joiner now 😁, may be i need to struggle for a month or so looking for a remote job. Have to take that risk now.
I am also going to be joining VMware soon. But I made sure to mention permanent wfh in the first round of interview itself. If the role is remote supported(like team is remote/based is us) you would get it easily no problem
The whole interview + offer took about 2 months
Normally you can opt for permanent wfh until unless your team needs you to be present at office time to time however 90% of the time wfh is given once you opt remote.
Thank you 😊
