My assessment went over 10mins and so my interviewers and I didn’t have a chance to exchange much, but I did make an effort to ask if they still have some time and asked more questions related to the role. Hey everyone! I’m interviewing for an HR Generalist role at a Fintech company, this will be their first HR hire and will be reporting to the CFO. I got invited to a second round interview to meet the team to ensure that it’s a good culture fit. I would love to know any thoughts on what I should ask or do to ensure that I am great fit. I left a good impression on the CFO but would to see what else so can do when meeting with the team since it’ll be a 2.5 hour meet up. I’m really excited!

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.
