In general, how do you negotiate salary? Do you give salary expectations at certain % higher than you realistically want / know the market is at? Do you explain your reasoning or just shoot your shot?

I recently got a job offer through a company that offered me the high end of what I was asking (75k) but since it is the high end of what I asked for, do I have room to negotiate? Do I have a leg to stand on if I even try negotiating at the point? I have til Friday to fully accept. Salary cut 20% first week the virus broke out, no bonuses this year, and it’s unlikely that we will get that 20% back. Good thing this was my first year and I earned all of 3 months of my salary. 😑

I have 7+ years of experience in java technology stack.

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%.
