Hey it will be bit challenging but not something impossible.
try to work on data analyst related projects and build some pro-folios in the mean time while you apply.
Also in resume you told you worked in civil engineering domain, but see if you have any transferable work experience or stories or achievements that you can add here
When you apply keep a covering letter also to the hiring manager saying you are someone looking to start work in this domain, you have did this much efforts and have this much skills so you can contribute to their organisation kind of.
Networking is another important factor which can help you with landing a entry level job easily
Also well-found is a hiring platform where you can apply for funded startups. I see this is a great way to enter the it domain and later you can switch
Also january is the month expected to have high hiring rate, if you take linked in premium for one month you can directly message hiring managers and hr of the job posts.
But pls dont get into depression. Its part of life you will get good job soon. Analyze your resume or try connecting to people on linkedin who are into this domain already working or like you seeking job connect with them and discuss this.
Not sure why did you left job in civil? Not interested in that, money issue or something else?
I have also seen simplylearn, be10x & more ads that mentions income in crores but failed to mention that is income experienced individuals working in USA that is converted to INR. Also those people already had 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering & moved to AI, data science or generative AI. If you proceed expertise in Civil, after 10 or 12 years you might have more clarity & salary what you even you wish for. India is growing a lot in infrastructure & also there will be very much new opportunities different civil, infra & other sectors. Think through & then decision is yours.
Fake your experience, that's how i got in
It will get caught in bgv
Also one suggestion if not getting job in the meantime try if you can get any intership of data analyst domain even if it is very less or unpaid. It will help you a lot try new startups they remain always open for these kind of interns. It will really help you secure a high paying job soon
See first mistake you did was you fell in trap of certificate courses. Coming from non IT background going for just a certification won't do wonders, how can you gain trust of recruiters. Data science is not something which can be taught in a course. You need a PG degree or MS degree of about 1, 2 years long. That too with a good certificate value.
But what's done is done. Do not hope for a job which pays in double figures, Remember you're a fresher in the field and will have to start again. I switched from teaching to data science and I had to start again from an internship which paid me almost nothing. But, in a matter of 6 months I got an opportunity with an MNC and since then growth has been tremendous.
Firstly make a good CV, and apply for internships as well. Internshala is a good platform to search for that. Apply from all possible sources.
In the meanwhile, do not sit idle, instead start practicing your coding on leetcode/hackerrank on daily basis and start solving kaggle problems. Improve your scores there and put it on your CV.
Situation currently in not good, it's hard to get a job in IT but it's not impossible. Key is to start asap. In couple of years you'll reach a mark where you won't regret your decision, growth is tremendous. Make connections on LinkedIn and ask for referrals.
Bro I will suggest...get into any job...any other domain...and then search for your desire job..
Don't waste time when your life is stuck. I understand it's difficult but try to zone out and see what can be done differently.
Few options to survive
1. Trading - as lucrative as it gets, if you learn it , you are set for life. It's like a business and you will enjoy it too.
2. Discuss in your network how to apply for jobs differently. It makes a lot of sense to stop the blind applications , it doesn't work in the current market and needs a more custom approach to get an interview.
3. Reach out to https://www.linkedin.com/in/shishir-gupta
He helps a lot of people and is a great guy.
4. Dabble in more with a side hustle and explore. What you love and what can get you there, Ikigai concept.
5. Start unlearning and relearning things and try a mindset shift.
6. Travel if you have finances and move out of the victim mentality, it helps a lot. It opens up your mind and gives you a fresh perspective.
Try not to run after something and soon it will start running after you.🙂
My honest thoughts are:
1. Apply for civil engg jobs as you have 3 yoe working in it and have greater chance of getting it.
2. Once you have it and can atleast make the ends meet, start applying for jobs in Data science field and switch once you get it.
From 16 months you're jobless?
Message me 1-1 along with profile details
Which job boards are you applying on
I'm looking to switch & applying on Naukri
Bro just chill and keep trying. One day you will be proud of yourself. Trust the process
I think i can help you, message me one on one
You have 3 yoe in Civil engineering domain. You can still go for core domain. I would suggest you to go back to Civil engineering. There's already a crowd who have MS in data science and even they are not being selected easily.
